The charming little village of Montezuma is nestled on the eastern shore of Costa Rica's Nicoya Peninsula, at the bottom of a plateau overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Unlike many other parts of Costa Rica, Montezuma has been largely untouched by commercial development maintaining still a laid back lifestyle. It has long been a heaven for alternative thinkers and “pura vida” lovers!
things to do
It is possible to enjoy many outdoor activities during your stay in Montezuma. Boat and snorkeling tour to Tortuga island, horse back riding, surfing lessons, hiking in Cabo Blanco National Park or Playa Grande, yoga, surfing, fishing, canopy zip line, bioluminescence and whale watching!
The town hosts a variety of local sodas offering typical Costa Rican food and also many international style restaurants: "Café Organico" for vegetarians and live music lovers, the popular oceanside "Cocolores", sushi at "Natsu" and "Mochas Monchis" for fresh fish and meat BBQ.
"Playa de Los Artistas", located right on the beach, offers Mediterranean cuisine and is probably the best restaurant in the area. Fresh ingredients, art pieces, paintings, great music and an amazing atmosphere right on the ocean are the ingredients.
